Electric Service:

Taos is served by Kit Carson Electric Cooperative. Full service including three-phase or other industrial needs are available in commercial locations.

Water and Sewer:

Taos depends on deep wells for water supply. A new 2,000-foot well has been recently drilled to tap into deep aquifers. There is sufficient water supply for anticipated growth in Taos. Sewer capacity is being expanded with the assistance of an EDA grant of $750,000 to fund a new transfer line on the south side of Taos to connect with the primary sewer treatment facility.

Natural Gas:

Natural gas is available in commercial areas and in most of the rest of Taos provided by Public Services Company of New Mexico (PNM).

Solar:

Though not actually a utility, it should be pointed out that Taos is an active solar community with over 300 sun days during the year. KTAO, our local radio station, is the most powerful solar powered commercial radio station in the world. If solar power is an option for your business, Taos is the place to locate!
